Nutritional Assistance for families with school-age children Funded by Deerwood Rotary

If you have children home over the summer, we are here for you!

Email: info@ucomajx.org and we will connect with you to see how we can help.  If you schedule an appointment for UCOM's Food Pantry by calling 904-396-2401, when you arrive, ask for Shannon or Aidan and they will talk to you about the program and get you signed up.

Check if you qualify for SNAP benefits (food stamps):

This summer, there may be an extended program with EBT Benefits.  Right now, we are hearing it could be up to $120 per child to households with school children who were eligible to receive fee or reduced priced meals during 2022/2023 school season.  Visit www.MyFlorida.com to learn more! Keep up to date by following @myflfamilies on social media!!

Don't forget to leave out healthy snacks before heading to work:

Whether your older teen is watching your little ones, a neighbor, or grandparent - make sure and leave out healthy between meal snacks for your kiddos to munch.  Visit your local food pantries and specifically ask for fresh produce for your kids!

FAQs

Q: Do I qualify for UCOM's summer nutrition program?

A: UCOM's program goal is to connect everyone to HEALTHY food.  If you are able to use one of the above services, we help you do that and assist in any way we can to help you feel empowered as a parent, grandparent, caregiver. We can navigate what is close and if it works for your unique situation.  But, if your children are home alone while you work and unable to get to a break spot, or their caregiver is limited and gas money is tight, we got you -- email or call us.  We provide support with transportation needs like car repairs or bus passes to keep you working and we can assist if you feel insecure in other areas of your life as you manage your household and support your growing kids.
